One Block on Paseo Delicias Is Quietly Rewriting the Rancho Santa Fe Village Week

Jennifer Fields started as a customer at Rancho Santa Fe Bistro. After her local tennis matches she ended up there nearly every day, and over time she got to know the owner, Mozy Jahanguiri. He had run the place for 12 years, and before that it was The Pantry. According to the San Diego Union-Tribune's profile of the handoff, he learned she had 24 years in hospitality, including 10 at the Bellagio. In February 2025 he asked whether she would take over when he retired.

She took ownership on Nov. 1, 2025, and renamed the restaurant Paseo. Less than a year later she runs a second spot at the same address, 6024 Paseo Delicias, where a single owner has been choosing each tenant.

The Building Under the New Paint

Paseo sits in Suite C of a local landmark. A plaque outside notes that the building was the first Rancho Santa Fe School. Its first graduation was in 1924, with one student. Fields put more than $800,000 into the interior. She kept the brick and the exposed wood beams, and she took out the Bistro's wine racks and cabinetry to make room for more tables and open the side doors to the interior patio.

While that work went on, the patio stayed open with new banquettes and fresh landscaping by Roxy Najafian, owner of Plantology in Rancho Santa Fe. She reused the historic pots already on site. Plantology is also a tenant on the same block, which comes up again below.

"I didn't realize how busy we were going to be," Fields told the Union-Tribune in the first weeks after the handoff.

Today Paseo's own site describes service "on the patio, at the bar, and in the dining room." It lists regular hours of 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday. The kitchen closes at 9 p.m. on weeknights and 9:45 p.m. on weekends, and the restaurant is closed Sunday. Before regular service on those two days, breakfast runs from 8 to 11 a.m., with omelets, chilaquiles, huevos rancheros, bagel and lox, a breakfast pinsa, and pancakes. The dinner menu goes from the Paseo Chopped salad and house pastas to Dover sole, miso black cod, rack of lamb, and a sushi and omakase section. The chopped salad comes from Fields's own history. It is modeled on the La Scala chopped salad from the Beverly Hills restaurant.

One Owner, a Whole Block of Suites

The detail that ties the block together came out in an August story about a beauty shop. The Union-Tribune's coverage of Make Me Up RSF reported that Delorine Jackson, one of the shop's three founders, owns the whole block of 6024 Paseo Delicias. Over the past several years she has made it her "labor of love to bring in the right tenants," with an entrepreneurial focus for her collection of suites.

According to the same article, she has hosted retail pop-ups there and brought in these businesses.

  • Paseo, Suite C, Jennifer Fields's restaurant in the former Bistro space
  • Paseo Pizza and Gelato, Unit D, Fields's second concept
  • Make Me Up RSF, Suite I, a makeup atelier with a small retail area
  • Household Company
  • Plantology
  • Havyn, a fragrance boutique
  • Moonlight Longevity, a medical spa

The article gives suite numbers only for the first three and doesn't confirm that every business on the list is still there. A full unit-by-unit roster isn't public.

With one owner choosing the tenants, the businesses tend to show up in each other's moments. Make Me Up RSF's Aug. 27 grand opening served Paseo Pizza from next door. Plantology's owner designed the restaurant patio a few suites away.

Two New Storefronts Since Summer

Make Me Up RSF moved into a former jewelry store space and redid it with pink walls and chairs, chandeliers, floral wallpaper, and a garland of pink florals imported from Europe around one picture window. Jackson founded it with Gina Resch of Rancho Santa Fe and Shirley Slee of Carlsbad. The Union-Tribune notes that none of the three is a makeup artist. All three come from business backgrounds, and the shop employs professional artists. The launch article gave hours of Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The shop's current site lists retail hours of Wednesday through Saturday, 12:30 to 5:30 p.m., and takes both appointments and walk-ins. The site is the better guide.

Paseo Pizza and Gelato held its grand opening Sept. 25 and 26. The Saturday afternoon included a kids' carnival with face painting and a balloon artist. The menu has build-your-own options and 18 signature pies. The namesake Paseo pie has Grande mozzarella, imported burrata, crispy prosciutto, and arugula. The shop also has rotating gelato and brews its own craft beer. It's open seven days a week from noon to 9 p.m., so on Sundays, when the main restaurant is closed, it's the Fields spot that's open.

Still Listed as Coming

Two projects near this stretch were announced with dates that have passed, and neither has been confirmed open.

The first is Paseo's market and bakery. In December 2025, Fields told the Union-Tribune the space next door would open "by the beginning of the year" with baked goods, crepes, milkshakes, and grocery staples. As of mid-October 2026, Paseo's market page still reads "Coming Soon to Rancho Santa Fe." It describes a space "Right next door to Paseo RSF" and offers sign-up for an opening notice. The pizza shop has its own unit and its own name. Nothing reported so far suggests it took the market's place.

The second is a block away from 6024. In July, the Union-Tribune reported that Solana Beach design firm Intimate Living Interiors, led by Kari Arendsen and Tory Peterson, was renovating the historic Francisco Building at 6015 Paseo Delicias for a second location. The opening was planned for September. No opening has been confirmed since.

A Fall Week Built Around 6024

With two kitchens on one block, the Village calendar now has fixed weekly points. Paseo's events page and homepage list these dates for the rest of 2026.

  1. Thursdays, Oct. 15 through Dec. 31: live music on the patio, with performers including Michael Myrdal
  2. Wednesday, Oct. 21: a four-course WhistlePig dinner
  3. Wednesday, Oct. 28: the Roman Palacios Duo
  4. Every Friday and Saturday: breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m.
  5. Every Sunday: pizza and gelato from noon at Unit D

Live calendars change, so check the page before planning a night around a set.

The Rest of the Village Calendar

The block sits a short walk from most of the Village's other fall events, and several land in the same two weeks.

  • Saturday, Oct. 17: a watercolor class and family storytime at the Rancho Santa Fe Library, 17040 Avenida de Acacias. The library also runs chair yoga on Tuesdays and Thursdays and meditation on Wednesdays.
  • Sunday, Oct. 18: the Village Church's free 70th-anniversary concert at 4 p.m., 6225 Paseo Delicias, with its adult and children's choirs, bell choir, and contemporary band. Earlier that day, the church's Fellowship Center hosts a blood drive from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, Oct. 22: a library author fundraiser with Elizabeth St.John.
  • Saturday, Oct. 24: the Rancho Santa Fe Historical Society's Fandango Street Party at La Flecha House, 6036 La Flecha, with a taco bar, drinks, and live music.
  • Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 27 and 28: Halloween programs at the library.
  • Thursday, Oct. 29: Inn After Dark at The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe, a free, adults-only Halloween evening for locals and guests starting at 6 p.m., with themed spaces, live music, and cocktails. Since April, the Inn's executive chef has been Patrick Ponsaty, who oversees Lilian's, Bing's Bar, The Café, events, and weddings.
  • Thursday, Nov. 12: an Art Guild exhibit reception at the library.

The next change on the block to watch for is Paseo's market and bakery, still listed as coming soon right next door to the restaurant.
